The Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission at Brussels has officially opened a call for evidence to inform the development of a new European Strategy for Vocational Education and Training (VET).
As Europe navigates the green and digital transitions, ensuring a highly skilled workforce is paramount to maintaining global competitiveness. This new initiative aims to modernize VET systems, making them more agile and responsive to the evolving requirements of the global labour market. By closing critical skills gaps, the Commission seeks to transform vocational training into a strategic lever for long-term economic resilience and strategic autonomy.
Who should participate? The Commission invites contributions from a broad range of stakeholders, including:
- Businesses and Social Partners (trade unions and employers’ associations).
- VET Providers and public authorities at national, regional, and local levels.
- Learners and professionals of all ages and career stages.
How to contribute: Stakeholders are encouraged to submit their feedback via the official portal. The consultation period is open until 19 February 2026.
