Francisca Fernández Prol is an Associate Professor of Labour and Social Security Law at the University of Vigo. Her research focuses on employment, gender discrimination, work-life balance and shared responsibility, unemployment, and the labour and social security rights of maritime workers.

She has three research evaluation periods (sexenios) and a strong academic career, with experience in national and international research projects. She has been a pre-doctoral fellow and specialized scholar in gender equality studies and has held various teaching positions at the University of Vigo since 2002.
